Ari Lennox
Courtney Shanade Salter (born March 26 1991) more popularly known as her real name Ari Lennox is an American artist and singer hailing from Washington, D.C. She is the first female artist to be affiliated with J. Cole's label Dreamville Records. The first album she released on the label on October 21 2016 titled Pho where she gained notoriety. Shea Butter Baby her debut studio album came out on May 7th 2019. Ari Lennox has released her music online since 2012, with the release of her first mixtape "Five Finger Discount" and her EP Ariography. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014, which included the self-released single Bound. The song Sweat it part of Omen's Elephant Eyes album on July 21st, 2015. J. Cole, who was part of the Dreamville crew back then, wanted to have her create Rihanna reference. On the 8th of December, it was revealed that she had officially signed by Dreamville Records. Backseat was her contribution to the Revenge of the Dreamers II album. Her Pho EP was released on her debut album on the 21st of October the 21st of October, 2016. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and also performed as the opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in the year 2017. In 2018 she went on to be a guest on two songs with her label-mates EarthGang on Nothing but the Best and Bas on Icarus. Ari Lennox debuted her first single, Shea Butter Baby, Whipped Cream on July 16, 2018, which was released on July 16th, 2018. A music video was followed by a music video in September. On the 9th of November, she released two additional singles: 40 Shades of Choke as well as Grampa. On November 13 she then came out with two additional singles, The No One and Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby. Shea Butter Baby later made an appearance in the Creed II album soundtrack alongside Cole. The singer released the single to celebrate her debut album titled Creed II on 26 February 2019. The song was followed by the music video which debuted on February 20 2019, and it surpassed the milestone of 3 million views via YouTube within one week. She was one of the support acts for 6LACK in their From East Atlanta With Love Tour in December 2018.
